Due to rapid company growth, the GrubHub.com sales team needs an experienced sales manager to oversee an East Coast sales team selling pay for results advertising to independent restaurants owners in NYC, Boston, Philly, and D.C. This newly created position will report directly to the VP of Sales and will be located in New York City. You will be expected to achieve aggressive regional sales goals, and make tactical improvements, while staying in tune with company strategy. If you do your job right, your sales reps will make more money than you, but they’ll make your life easier.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and direct a sales team to achieve regional goals and individual market goals

• Proactively and reactively work hands on with sales reps in the field: conduct “ride alongs,” respond quickly to sales rep questions, lead weekly team meetings, foster a team mentality, and more

• Continuously improve team and individual performance through consistent tactical sales training, process improvements, and best practice sharing

• Ensure that sales activities remain aligned with corporate strategy

• Recommend product or service enhancements to senior management to improve restaurant satisfaction and sales potential.

• Report market activity, trends, and analyses to VP of Sales

• Use quantitative analytics and insight gained from previous situational experience to make sound business decisions

• Hire top performers and reduce poor performers



Job Requirements:

• A coach’s mentality: you love helping others succeed and find tremendous joy in team wins

• Familiar with a variety of sales concepts, practices, and procedures.

• Superb organizational skills

• Proficient in Microsoft office and Salesforce.com Proven record of success in developing sales teams and delivering significant sales growth

• Solid knowledge of local advertising sales. Knowledge of the restaurant industry a major plus.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• A management philosophy that fits with GrubHub.com’s culture

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related area, and 2+ years of management experience and at least 5 years of successful sales experience

• Willingness to live, work, and travel within the regional sales area

• Travel up to 75%
